Graduated in Economics from the University of Kragujevac.
Started his career in 1971 in Jugobanka in Kruševac. Worked in Župa Chemical Industry in Kruševac since 1977, becoming its CEO in 1982.
He was awarded the highest national award of SFR Yugoslavia, the AVNOJ Award, for the achievements in business.
In 1990 he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia in charge of privatization, but due to disagreements resigned after six months.
Founded Delta company in 1991 and has been at its helm ever since. Developed the first private bank in Serbia (now a part of Banca Intesa) and a leading retail chain (now part of Delhaize Group). Steered Delta into the No. 1 position among the biggest companies in Serbia (2008-2010) and No. 5 in the Alpe Adria region. Was the first citizen in the region included in the Forbes list of the world’s richest people (2008).
At present is the president of Delta Holding which employes more than 7,000 persons. Its core businesses include agriculture and food production, real estate sector, insurance, car dealership and consumer goods distribution.
Married, with two children and three grandchildren.
