Privrednik Club welcomed Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, for an initial meeting focused on exchanging views on key issues shaping the development of Serbia’s energy sector and their impact on the business community.
The meeting took place in a highly constructive atmosphere, with an open dialogue on current energy policies, strategic development priorities, and Serbia’s investment plans. Particular attention was given to the energy transition, increasing the share of renewable energy sources, strengthening energy security, and developing infrastructure projects that will contribute to the long-term competitiveness of the Serbian economy.
During the discussion, Serbia’s key energy development priorities were presented, including planned investments in the energy sector, the development of transmission and distribution networks, new generation capacity, gas infrastructure projects, as well as initiatives aimed at improving the regulatory framework and enhancing energy efficiency. According to current plans, Serbia is expected to invest €14.4 billion in the energy sector by 2035, alongside a significant increase in renewable energy capacity.
Members of Privrednik Club described the meeting as highly valuable and substantive, emphasizing the importance of maintaining open dialogue with public institutions and the business community’s readiness to play an active role in achieving Serbia’s strategic energy and development objectives.
Privrednik Club thanks the Minister for her visit and openness to cooperation, with the conviction that this meeting will provide a strong foundation for future joint initiatives and regular communication on issues of strategic importance to the development of Serbia and its economy.
