Statement to the public

Serbian Business Club “Privrednik”, an association bringing together some of Serbia’s most successful and prominent business leaders, whose mission is to improve the business environment and support the development of the domestic economy, strongly supports the initiatives of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić presented at the thematic session of the Government of Serbia.

We believe that the right path for Serbia is to focus on reforms and on coordinated, day-to-day action by government institutions and the business community, in order to realize the country’s development vision for the coming decade and secure a strong and respected position for Serbia and its economy in a rapidly changing world. We share the view that there is no room in this vision for those who approach their responsibilities half-heartedly or without sufficient commitment, particularly when their work affects the lives of millions of fellow citizens.

We support the President’s position that the stability of Serbia’s energy system must be safeguarded without compromise, particularly under extraordinary weather conditions. We consider his call for the strategic strengthening of Serbia’s power system in the years ahead to be particularly important, as the economy – especially the IT and artificial intelligence sectors – is expected to face significant new energy demands. We support the President’s initiative to identify ways to expand these capacities as quickly as possible, thereby laying the foundation for Serbia’s accelerated development in these fields.

Serbia’s economic growth and the transformation of its economy in line with global trends depend on all of the above, particularly in a global environment that is changing at an unprecedented pace. This requires public institutions to have people who regard the effective fulfillment of their responsibilities as a priority, as President Vučić emphasized.

Only in this way can Serbia have the opportunity to emerge from the period of global transformation ahead as a winner, with new jobs adapted to changing market conditions – a prerequisite for a strong economy and a higher standard of living for all citizens.

Serbian Business Club “Privrednik” stands ready, within the scope of its capabilities and authority, to contribute to the reform process and to the rapid and effective implementation of reform measures.
