Promotion of Wolfgang Petritsch’s Serbian-language book edition, “The changing of eras – Our digital-authoritarian age”

The Club hosted the renowned Austrian diplomat to mark the publication of his new book

On Friday, March 1, 2024, the Serbian edition of The Changing of Eras – Our Digital-Authoritarian Age, by Wolfgang Petritsch, was presented at the premises of Serbian Business Club “Privrednik”. The Austrian diplomat and former EU Special Representative for Kosovo spoke about his new book, which offers insight into global political developments and explores the shape of the emerging world order.

Petritsch said that, through the specially expanded Serbian edition of the book, he wanted to convey to the people of Serbia that there is much more to the country’s future than the Kosovo issue. He emphasized that Serbia has numerous opportunities ahead and argued that, regardless of the breakup of Yugoslavia, Serbia could play a dominant role in the region by focusing on those opportunities, given its size and importance.

“Your prosperity does not depend so much on Kosovo. I know that this is an emotional and historical issue for you, and I respect that, but I believe Serbia needs to look beyond it. Serbia needs to become part of the EU,” Petritsch said.

The book launch was also attended by the ambassadors of Austria and the United States, Christian Ebner and Christopher Hill, who addressed the gathering.
