Reception marking St. Patrick’s Day and the opening of the Embassy of Ireland in Belgrade

24 March 2026

Serbian Business Club Privrednik hosted a formal reception marking St. Patrick’s Day, which also celebrated the official opening of the Embassy of Ireland in Belgrade.

The event brought together numerous distinguished guests from the diplomatic corps, Serbian government institutions, the business community, and the cultural and public spheres. The hosts of the reception were Michael Moynihan, Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, and His Excellency Kevin Colgan, Ireland’s first resident Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia.

Hosting such a significant international event at Privrednik Club further underscores its reputation as one of the key meeting places for the business and diplomatic communities, as well as a platform for strengthening dialogue and cooperation at the international level.

The celebration of St. Patrick’s Day – a holiday that embodies Ireland’s rich traditions of music, poetry, and culture – further highlighted the importance of bringing people together and fostering the exchange of cultural values. At the same time, the opening of the Embassy of Ireland in Belgrade marks an important step in further strengthening relations between Serbia and Ireland, built on historical ties and shared values.

His Excellency Kevin Colgan thanked Serbian Business Club “Privrednik” for its hospitality and professional support in organizing the event, noting:

“We particularly value our cooperation with the Club’s President, Veselin Jevrosimović, as well as Comtrade’s long-standing and successful presence in the Irish market, which represents a strong bridge between our two economies.”

Serbian Business Club “Privrednik” will continue to reinforce its role as an important hub for bringing together and connecting the domestic and international business communities through events of this kind.
